7 | SoM week

On the 1st day of the SoM week, we walked from Apc to Lapu-lapu. It's too hot, but fun because I'm with my friends. I also enjoyed sa TM society activity which is TMysteries, fun but scary. I have alot of things that I discovered on the game, best experience ever!!! :)

It also help us to developed our friendship, their are alot of game that our classmates was joined. And we supported them, we cheer them. Lately, my friend Andrea and Pamela joined the Clash of Course and I was their to support them. This evening there is a SoM night but I was not able to attend that because my grandma don't allow me to go. I'm happy because my friends won the game that I was stated lately which is TMysteries. We also attended the seminar about the cyber crime law.

This is one of the most memorable event in my college life, I have my friends with me. And we successful finished the SoM week. Tomorrow we are going to support Joshua Beredo for his SoM pageant. SoM week is fun, memorable and enjoyable. I hope this will happen again :)

6 | Parasyte

This movie is so creepy and unique, the movie was so great! But i'm not satisfied at the end. I really want to watch the part 2 of this movie. I don't have any doubt that it is one of the best selling movie that earned money. The circle of the story is a japanese teen manages to stop an alien infection before it  before it spreads to his brain, but is then forced to coexist with the mutant creature when it takes control of his right arm in “Parasyte.” Part horror movie, part buddy comedy and part superhero origin story, this clever twist on the classic body-snatcher formula. Even though it's hard for him to fought his love one's he did for the sake of other people, he just did his part. The movie inspired me, he is willing to risk his life for the sake for other people.

3 | Ang Tatay Mong Kalbo (A bald soprano)

First, we all wondering where does the title came from. It's not really accurate with the scenes in the play. I do some research about where does the title really came from and it's history.

According to legend (we're not sure if this is true), the actual title came into being during a rehearsal when the actor playing the Fire Chief flubbed a line. He was supposed to say "une institutrice blonde" (a blond schoolteacher), but instead said, "une cantatrice chauve" (a bald soprano). We're guessing Ionesco thought this mess-up was awesome. Not only did he add a line as a result, he even named the play after it.

It's kind of weird right? First, I didn't get the logic. Imagine where does the story really came from. It's hard for me to understand as well. But in my part I did some research so I can easily understand the story. From the word Absurds means it is make no sense at all. Mr. and Mrs. Reyes are seated like the Santos at the beginning of the play. The play begins again with Reyes, who say exactly the same lines as the Santos in the first scene. This weird and wonderful ending touches on many of the play's major themes. For one, it's the final twist in a play in which we've seen one "version of reality"after another.

5 | Turn Left, Turn Right

This movie is a great adaptation from the book which is owned by the artist Jimmy Liao from Taiwan. I loved this movie. I caught only the last half on TV recently and tracked down the full film to see all of it. I am not familiar with the original illustrated novel though. It is a fairy tale for grownups, with humour, sadness, and a bit of slapstick.

There is one thing i want to complain about though. The supporting characters are so irritating. They completely spoiled the mood of the movie. Everytime they appear, i cringe and cuss. They are the only thing that keeps the movie from being a perfect ten. that and the dramatic ending that also strays away from the mood of the movie. For me, it's simple but really inspiring. They are really meant for each other. When I watched the movie Turn Left, Turn Right. I was inspired and definitely amazed. I'm just wondering, they met again after I think 10 years? Yes I think. A great story, a story of two people, that can never met, a story of two umbrellas, that we can see from above, but that never cross each other.

4 | Cheers and Chant

This is so memorable. We enjoyed this event in English Term because this is a project. And I'm proud to be part of it. It's not easy to join this kind of event it's just like a little bit nervous. But TM151 have a spirit and confident that we can do it.

And because of the unity of our block, we succeed. When we are practicing the Cheers and Chant some of us our not taking the rehearsal seriously. But when the event came, we just pray and think that we can do it. I'm so happy that we won the 1st runner up, not a champion but atleast we raise our block section.

In this event we show our unity and faith to God. It's so hard to rehearsal and practice, i honestly sometimes I lost my motivation to do it properly. You know why? Let me say this why should I take it seriously, when my blockmates are making it funny thing. Oh well, we just need to have unity to be succeed on one thing.

1 | I'm Perfectly Imperfect

Hi. My name is Jennyvee Cañeso, but you can call me Jen or Jenny. I’m 16 years old. I was born on November 2, 1998. My parents are not living together, they seperated when I  was 5 years old. They now have family of their own, my mom have 2 children with her present husband and my dad also have 2 children with his present wife. When I was 2 years old my grandmother decided to take good care of me.

I love playing volleyball. I practiced my favorite sport when I was 1st year high school. And I also joined the training to be a varsity someday. I love to meet new people, and make friends with them.
I want to finish my studies so I can help my Aunt. I love my Aunt so much, she was the one who took the responsibility of my parents she supports my financial needs. I have a lot of dreams, I want to be a successful someday. I want to have a stable work so I can help my family and to provide for them. They are the most important people in my life, without them I am nothing.

2 | Heneral Luna

“Heneral Luna” has made me realized a certain point. It is the film’s slogan, “Bayan O Sarili?” This tagline is suitable in the era that we live in. During the colonial era, the Spanish, American and Japanese, Filipinos did put their sense of nationalism first before their comfort.

They have given so much for them and for us to experience freedom. They sacrificed so much, and put their lives in danger. One example is General Antonio Luna, the General during the Philippine-American War. He is known as a strict and disciplined general that is a total disciplinarian to the soldiers of that time. His attitude and his great sense of nationalism were misinterpreted by his fellow soldiers, saying that he is a misunderstanding and a rude general. Some of his political enemies were Felipe Buencamino and Pedro Paterno, they were the ones who are into the movement and colonialization of America in the Philippines. They were thinking about their riches which angered Gen. Luna. That was the time that he asked them furiously with determination, “Bayan o Sarili?” There are times that we only think the benefits for ourselves, selfish it is. That quote must be always in our mind and realize that we do not only live for ourselves but for other people too, especially our countrymen. I am on the side of Gen. Luna, which is on the “Bayan” side, because if not because of heroes like him, we would not experience the satisfaction of sovereignty and freedom that we have.

No colonizers and no external control, we are independent. How lovely is that? The movie also made me realized that it was never good to separate with your group. In the movie, the group is the group of Filipinos. The point I am pertaining to is the bond between the government officials are weak. If the government is weak, then the country’s status will also be weak. A team should be together, not far away from each other. There should be one goal and one step in achieving that goal. The goal for Independence was not easily achieved during that time. In the present era, we could relate this to simple group tasks like group projects. If one member did not participate, the ability of a group to perform a certain task will be less than the full potential of the group to perform an excellent job if all of the members would be doing their responsibilities. These points of the movie are what struck me the most, lessons that we may bring anywhere.

Heneral Luna is a movie that we did not have for quite some time now. It is the movie that has light up the inner spark of our nationalistic self. The movie that opened our eyes on the evil truths of our national history. A movie that has taught the lessons of nationalism, betrayal, love, faith and service. Truths that until now are lingering in our minds, hearts and souls. Truths that would tell us that Heneral Luna is alive and will remain alive - the way that we would like the story to have ended.
